NABLUS, Saturday, April 13, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists today evening attacked the village of Al-Sawiya and the town of Qasra, south of Nablus.
The head of the Al-Sawiya Village Council, Mahmoud Hassan, said a group of armed colonists from the illegal colony of Eli snaked their way into the village and attacked Palestinian homes in the eastern area of the village.
The gun-toting colonists further opened heavy gunfire towards Palestinian homes and vehicles and hurled stones at residents, causing significant damage but no injuries were reported thought.
In another context, Fouad Hassan, an anti-settlement activist, said that armed colonists attacked citizens in the southern and eastern sides of the town of Qasra.
He added that the colonists opened a barrage of gunfire on the houses and set a commercial store on fire, sparking confrontations.
Earlier today, several Palestinians were injured by gunfire and dozens of homes were set on fire this afternoon in a large-scale attack by Israeli settler militias on the village of Duma, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
Suleiman Dawabsha, the head of Duma Village Council, told WAFA that confrontations erupted in the town during which a number of local Palestinian citizens were shot with live bullets while trying to fend off the settlers' attack, who set fire to several homes in the village.
Since this morning, Israeli settler militias, under full protection from the Israeli army, have closed the entrances to the towns of Silwad, Turmus Aya, Sinjil, and Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah Governorate, and attacked passing vehicles.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that four Palestinians were injured by live bullets. A 57-year-old man sustained bruises throughout his body after being brutally beaten by settler militias.
