NABLUS, Thursday, February 29, 2024 (WAFA) – A Palestinian citizen was injured this evening after being run over and assaulted by an Israeli colonist near the entrance of the eastern village of Al-Lubban esh-Sharkiya, located south of Nablus, according to local reports.
Yaqub Eweis, the head of the Al-Lubban esh-Sharkiya Village Council, reported that an Israeli colonist ran over and attacked Mahdi Sameer Al-Azza, a Palestinian from the village, while he was outside his own home near the entrance to the village.
The assault resulted in injuries to the young man, who was subsequently transported to hospital for medical treatment.
Eweis added that colonists also vandalized several vehicles belonging to the Al-Azza family. He noted that colonists also attempted to attack houses adjacent to the main Nablus-Ramallah road near the village.
Of note, Israeli occupation forces have closed the entrance of the village with an iron gate and earth barriers since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip in October, hindering the daily movement of citizens.
