LONDON, Saturday, February 10, 2024 (WAFA) – Protests against the Israeli war of genocide on Gaza continue to sweep through various European capitals and cities, demanding an immediate ceasefire to stop the bloodbath which has thus far claimed the lives of over 28,000 Palestinians, predominantly civilians.

The German capital, Berlin, witnessed three protests today, featuring the participation of human rights associations and demonstrators from other cities, according to media reports. These demonstrations concluded in front of the South African embassy in a thank-you message for the country's support for the Palestinian cause.

The primary slogan of these protests was the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, coupled with new slogans emerging in Germany, protesting against companies accused by human rights organizations of collaborating with the Israeli occupation forces.

In addition to Berlin, the German cities of Saarbrucken and Freiburg also witnessed solidarity rallies for Palestine and Gaza.

In Paris, France, a massive demonstration started at the Republic Square and marched towards the Nation Square. The protesters marched under the banner of combating far-right extremism and fascism, condemning the alignment of the government with the far-right, not only within the country but also in Israel.

The demonstration also called for an end to the Israeli war on Gaza, halting the killing of Palestinians, lifting the blockade on Gaza, and providing humanitarian aid. Palestinian flags were prominently displayed, and participants encompassed various age groups, with a predominant presence of the youth.

In the UK, reports indicate that supporters of Palestine took to the streets in 34 cities, with over 40 protests displaying slogans such as "Stop the genocide," "End the UK government's complicity with Israeli crimes in Gaza," "Stop arms exports to Israel," and "End political and military support for Israel."

A similar protest took place in Utrecht, Netherlands, expressing opposition to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.

Thousands also rallied in Vienna, Austria, Malmo, Sweden, and Odense, Denmark, as part of the European-wide protests condemning the Israeli aggression.

In Istanbul, Turkey, dozens of doctors and healthcare workers marched in solidarity with Gaza, protesting Israeli attacks. The participants held banners and chanted slogans demanding an urgent international intervention to stop Israeli assaults, enable the return of Gaza residents to their homes, and end the blockade.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a destructive war on Gaza, resulting in tens of thousands of civilian casualties, predominantly children and women.

The aggression has caused an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and extensive infrastructure damage. Israel now faces charges of genocide before the International Court of Justice based on a lawsuit filed by South Africa.
