Leaders of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia call for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

SAN FRANCISCO, Saturday, November 18, 2023 (WAFA) – The leaders of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Malaysia called today for an immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian ceasefire leading to a cessation of the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement issued on the sidelines of the 30th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in San Francisco, the US, the leaders of the Southeastern Asia countries reiterated the messages of the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit held last week in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss the Israeli Aggression Against the Palestinian People.

The leaders noted underscored the need for an immediate, continuous, sufficient and unhindered provision of essential goods and services to civilians throughout the Gaza Strip.

They also reaffirmed that a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue can only be achieved by peaceful means, based on the relevant United Nations resolutions, on the basis of the two-State solution, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
