RAMALLAH, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces colluded with colonist settlers in preventing Palestinians in the West Bank from harvesting their olive crops.
In the towns of Rummaneh, located near the apartheid barrier west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and in Taqoa, southeast of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, Israeli occupation forces attacked the Palestinian farmers and prevented them from reaching their lands or continuing in the harvest.
In the town of Qaryout, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, colonist settlers attacked Palestinian farmers harvesting their olive crops and opened fire in their direction, forcing them to leave their lands.
Soldiers earlier held for a while two women who were picking olives in the lands before allowing them to leave.
Reports said the racist Israeli minister of finance, Bezalel Smotrich, has asked the military officials to prevent Palestinians from harvesting the olive crops in the West Bank.
The olive harvest season is one of the most important for thousands of Palestinian families who rely on income from this harvest for their living.
