COPENHAGEN, Sunday, October 22, 2023 (WAFA) – Thousands marched today in Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, Paris, France’s capital, the city of Sydney in Australia, the Belgian capital, Brussels, Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in several South American countries, to demand Israel to stop its ongoing aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip.
In Copenhagen, thousands marched the streets while carrying the Palestinian flag and banners calling for the freedom and independence of Palestinians and stopping the Israeli war on Gaza, which affected hospitals, schools, shelter centers, and places of worship and led to the killing of thousands, including children, women, and elderly.
Protesters called on the international community to stop the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing committed by Israel. The occupying power, against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, especially in Gaza.
A similar march took place in the French capital, Paris. Participants chanted slogans such as, "Gaza children, where is the humanity", "Palestinians are fighting alone", "Yes for the Palestinian resistance", and "Israel is a killer, Macron is complicit."
In Australia’s city of Sydney, an estimated 25 thousand people roamed the streets in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, demanding an immediate halt to the Israeli destruction machine, a complete withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories, and the provision of protection for the Palestinian people.
Mass demonstrations also took place in the Capitals of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina. Demonstrators called on the international community to take serious action to end the Israeli occupation, stop its crimes against the Palestinian people, and support them in their struggle to gain their freedom and independence.
In the Belgian capital, Brussels, around 40 thousand people participated in marches in solidarity with Palestine and in protest against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Thousands also rallied in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in support of Palestinians and in condemnation of the Israeli ongoing offensive on the Strip. Participants raised the Palestinian flag and carried banners such as "This is not war, this is genocide", among others calling for the freedom of Palestine and ending the occupation.
