JENIN, Sunday, October 22, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today attacked Palestinian olive pickers in the village of Zabuba, west of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank, said local and security sources.
Sources told WAFA that Israeli soldiers opened fire on farmers while they were harvesting their olive crops in their privately-owned lands, which is located adjacent to the separation barrier that runs through the said village, and warned them against approaching the barrier, including to enter their lands located there.
In related news, the head of the Jalboun village council told WAFA correspondent that Israeli colonists from inside the nearby illegal colony of Meirav opened heavy gunfire toward residents’ homes in the Jalboun village, northeast of Jenin.
No injuries were reported in both attacks.
He added that Israeli forces prevented the access of all owners of lands located close to the barrier in the Jalboun village to their lands, including a resident who was forced out of his land after forces threatened to shoot him.
In the meantime, forces held briefly five olive pickers while they were harvesting their crops in the town of Qablan, south of Nablus.
