SALFIT, Friday, August 18, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers stole a fence today which had been erected to protect a 60-dunam piece of land in Farkha village, to the west of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
The settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, stole a fence from lands in the Batn area located west of the village, the sources said. They attempted to assault local residents who were present in the area, along with international solidarity activists. The settlers prevented them from accessing their lands.
This incident adds to a series of similar actions by Israeli settlers that have raised tensions in various parts of the occupied West Bank. The theft of property and acts of intimidation by Israeli settlers have been a longstanding issue in areas near Israeli settlements.
Palestinian authorities have been calling for international intervention to curb such activities that violate international law and exacerbate the already complex situation in the region. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Palestinians in protecting their lands and rights in the face of persistent settler violence.
