RAMALLAH, Monday, July 17, 2023 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today highlighted the attack against settlers near Bethlehem that left three settlers injured and the ensuing army raid of the biblical city, which resulted in confrontations and detention of three people.
Al-Quds daily said three settlers were injured in a shooting attack near Tuqou, one of them critically.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida also reported about the shooting attack and injury of three Israelis and said that confrontations broke out after the army raided Bethlehem to arrest the attacker.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said settlers attacked Palestinian homes in the town of Burin, near Jenin, and set fire to fields.
It also said the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate succeeded to regain ownership of a property in Abu Tur neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem leased to the Israeli government at a cost of around $20 million.
Al-Ayyam quoted Peace Now saying that a new settlement is going to be built in Hebron after settlers took over a Palestinian-owned house.
It said Hamas is unable to pay salaries in Gaza after a delay in the arrival of the Qatari fund.
Al-Quds said most Israelis fear an outbreak of civil war.
It said that reserve soldiers are threatening to stop their service in protest against the government’s measures to change the legal system.
