RAMALLAH, Saturday, February 25, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today detained a Palestinian family in Masafer Yatta in the south of the occupied West Bank, seized a bulldozer in a northern West Bank town, as settlers chased herders off the pastures in the east of the West Bank.
In Masafer Yatta, local activist Rateb al-Jabour said soldiers arrested a man, his wife and his son while they were working on their land located near the two illegal settlements of Mitze Yair and Yacoub Daliya.
He said the soldiers also seized building material in Shaab al-Batm, also in Masafer Yatta, owned by a local resident.
In the north of the West Bank, soldiers seized a bulldozer while working near the entrance to the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of the city of Salfit, claiming the area where the bulldozer was working is designated as Area C, which means it is under full Israeli military control, according to Qarawat Bani Hassan mayor Ibrahim Assi.
Settlers, meanwhile, chased off Palestinian shepherds while herding at pastures in an area west of the eastern West Bank city of Jericho, according to activist for Bedouin rights, Hasan Mleihat.
He said armed settlers, protected by soldiers, chased off the herders and forced them to leave the pastures.
Bedouins in the area live from raising livestock and depend on the pastures to feed their sheep.
