RAMALLAH, Wednesday, February 22, 2023 (WAFA) – Palestine Wednesday evening requested the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to hold an emergency session on the massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces in Nablus.
The Palestinian leadership called for the emergency UNSC session after Israeli forces killed ten Palestinians, including an elderly and a child, and injured over 100 others by live bullets, six reported in critical to very critical condition, in an incursion into the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Riyad Malki stated that the leadership has also requested the Council of the League of Arab States to convene at the level of Permanent Representatives as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene to condemn the Israeli massacre and ensure international protection for the Palestinian people.
The incursion marked another episode of the deadliest days in the occupied West Bank since Israel ramped up raids at the start of 2021.
