RAMALLAH, Saturday, February 18, 2023 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas received today a phone call from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in which the two discussed the latest developments in Palestine in view of Israel’s violations of signed agreements and the resolutions of international legitimacy.

President Abbas also briefed Blinken on Palestine’s decision to seek action in the UN Security Council as a result of Israel’s insistence on violating signed agreements. He underscored the need for Israel to stop all unilateral measures, including settlement construction, home demolitions, raids on cities and villages and the extrajudicial killings of Palestinians.

The President urged the US administration to immediately and effectively intervene to press Israel to stop all these dangerous measures in order to achieve a political horizon that pushes for implementation of the two-state solution and the resolutions of international legitimacy.

Meantime, the US Secretary of State confirmed that he would reach out to the Israeli government in an effort to stop the unilateral Israeli actions on the ground.
