Israeli settlers chop off, uproot olive trees in Salfit

SALFIT, Saturday, February 11, 2023 (WAFA) – Extremist Israeli settlers today uprooted or chopped off about 20 olive trees for Palestinian farmers in the village of Yasuf, in the occupied West Bank province of Salfit, according to local sources.

Rajeh Atayani, a local Palestinian resident, told WAFA that settlers uprooted and chopped off nearly 20 olive trees belonging to him after sneaking into a farm of his own in the village.

He said this was not the first attack of its kind on his farm, adding that he had lost about 110 olive trees in recurring attacks by Israeli settlers.

Israeli settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities.

There ae over 650,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law and consensus.
