HEBRON, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 (WAFA) – The Israeli military government today ordered the demolition of a Palestinian-owned house and structures in a southern West Bank village, according to a local activist.
Rateb al-Jabour, an activist in the anti-settlements movement in the south of Hebron, told WAFA that soldiers broke into the village of Jawyya, south of Hebron, and informed a local resident that his 170-square-meter house, where seven members of his family live, is going to be demolished, along with an animal shack and a tent he owns.
Another resident of nearby Jourat al-Jamal was ordered to stop work on the construction of his house.
Israel claims the houses were built in Area C, which is under full Israeli control. Building permits are impossible to get in Area C.
