NABLUS, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers today destroyed dozens of olive saplings in the lands of Qusra village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to a local activist.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors colonial settlement activities in the northern West Bank, said that a group of settlers sneaked their way into cultivated land in the southeastern part of the village, chopped down over 30 olive saplings and sabotaged irrigation pipelines, all belonging to Mahmoud Odeh, a farmer.
Settlers’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Settlers’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
There are over 800,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
