Three Palestinians wounded by Israeli gunfire in Surif

HEBRON, Sunday, April 23, 2022 (WAFA) – Three Palestinians were wounded by Israeli settlers’ gunfire today outside the town of Surif, to the northwest of Hebron in the southern West Bank, according to local sources.

Witnesses told WAFA that a group of Israeli settlers armed with rifles opened gunfire at Palestinian farmers while working in their own land outside the town, injuring three of them.

The three were rushed to a hospital in nearby Hebron city for medical treatment, where their condition was described as light to moderate.

An Israeli occupation army force clashed with angry Palestinian civilians in the aftermath of the shooting attack, and cases of suffocation from teargas inhalation were reported.

Violence and vandalism by Israeli settlers are commonplace across the occupied West Bank, and are never prosecuted by the occupation authorities.

Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across the occupied Palestinian Territories in violation of international law.
