JERUSALEM, Friday, February 25, 2022 (WAFA) - An Israeli settler today opened gunfire into a Palestinian vehicle near the town of Hizma in the occupied West Bank province of Jerusalem, injuring two brothers who were inside the vehicle.
Mohammad and Jawad Abukhadija, two Palestinian brothers from Shuafat refugee camp in occupied Jerusalem, both in the 30s of age, told reporters that they had a traffic accident with an Israeli settler near Hizma checkpoint, to the northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Immediately after the accident, the settler, who was armed with a rifle, got off his vehicle and opened a barrage of gunfire into the Palestinian vehicle, injuring the two brothers in the abdomen and foot respectively, added the two brothers.
The two were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Israeli settler violence is commonplace across the occupied West Bank, and is rarely prosecuted by the Israeli occupation authorities.
