Israeli occupation army shuts down entrances to Nablus

NABLUS, Thursday, December 16, 2021 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces tonight shut down the entrances to the city of Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank, denying entry and exit of Palestinian vehicles and passengers, Palestinian security sources said.

The Israeli occupation army reportedly locked down the checkpoints of Sarra, Huwwara, Beit Furik and Shave Shomron to the west, south, southeast and northwest of the city respectively.

At Shave Shomron checkpoint, northwest of the city, photos shared on the social media showed long queues of Palestinian cars packed across the two directions of the road, not being able to proceed forward or drive back.

Meantime, dozens of Israeli settlers rampaged at Nablus-Ramallah road near the village of Huwwara and pelted stones at Palestinian vehicles passing at the road, causing damage to some of them. No injuries were reported.

Other stoning attacks by Israeli settlers were also reported at Nablus-Qalqilia and Nablus-Tulkarm roads.

These developments coincide with Israeli reports of a shooting attack that left one Israeli settler killed and two others injured near the abandoned Israeli settlement of Homesh, north of Nablus.
