NABLUS, Saturday, December 11, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers today chopped more than 600 olive and almond trees in the village of Deir Sharaf, west of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, according to a local official.
Ghassan Daghlas, an official who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the north of the West Bank, told WAFA that when Deir Sharaf residents headed to their lands west of the village and located near the illegal settlement of Shavi Shomron, which they have rehabilitated five years ago, they found out that the settlers have chopped their trees.
He said the land, estimated in area at almost 70 dunums, belongs to a local family.
Israeli settler violence against Palestinian civilians and their property in the occupied West Bank is rampant and an almost daily occurrence without any attempt by the Israeli government to rein in the colonial settlers.
