Settlers uproot fruitful trees south of Nablus

NABLUS, Friday, July 02, 2021 (WAFA) – Extremist Israeli settlers today uprooted and stole more than 80 fruitful fig, almond and grape saplings near the village of Qaryut, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to a local activist.

Ghassan Daghlas, a local official who monitors settlements activity in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that a group of settlers sneaked their way into a ranch near the village, where they uprooted and stole the saplings and destroyed water pipes and an irrigation tank belongong to local Palestinian villagers.

Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by the Israeli occupation authorities.

Over 700,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
