RAMALLAH, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 (WAFA) - The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry recorded today one death and 34 new Covid-19 cases among Palestinians in the Diaspora, raising the overall total deaths among them to 322.
The ministry said Palestinian businessman and founder of the Palestinian community in Manaus; the capital of the vast state of Amazonas, Ali Yacoub, has died of the disease in Brazil, bringing total deaths there to seven.
It said that 26 Palestinians in the USA contracted the virus, bringing the total confirmed cases among Palestinians in the USA to 6236, while death stood at 111.
The ministry recorded a new case of covid-19 in the Palestinian embassy in Tunisia. The embassy was shut down and is expected to reopen on Monday after disinfecting the building.
Seven other cases were recorded among Palestinians in Italy, which raises the number there to 221.
The confirmed cases among the Palestinian diaspora reached 9183 since the outbreak of the pandemic, said the Ministry.
