Man killed, four injured in a brawl in northern West Bank village – Police

NABLUS, Thursday, July 30, 2020 (WAFA) – A 44-year-old man was killed and four other people were injured in a brawl that broke out in the village of Beit Furik, east of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, according to Palestinian police spokesman Loai Irzeiqat.

He said police got a call about a fight in the village and that five people were brought to hospitals in Nablus with bodily injuries, one of them was reported in critical condition who was later pronounced dead.

A police force was sent to the village to maintain law and order and arrested a number of people suspected of taking part in the fight.

An investigation was opened into the circumstance of the killing of the man, whose body will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death, said the police spokesman.

According to Palestinian police reports, there has been a sharp rise in killings in the Palestinian territories since the start of this year with 32 people reported killed in crimes or fights.
