IOF Arrests 2 Civilians in Jenin, Storms Bethlehem


JENIN, May 11, 2004, (WAFA) – Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested Monday dawn two civilians in al-Yamoon town of Jenin City, witnesses said.... They told WAFA that Israeli troops, backed by eight military vehicles, incurred into the town and stormed a number of houses and conducted a wide-scale search campaign.... They added that the IOF soldiers arrested Lu'ay Hamdiya 20, and Mashhoor Abahra 24, leading them into an unknown place.... Meanwhile, IOF imposed a tight curfew on the city town of Ya'bad amid intensive shooting, WAFA correspondent reported.... He confirmed that massive Israeli troops broke into the town and imposed a tight curfew while the schoolboys were on their way back home. They also blocked all the town entrances to deny the civilians' access from-into the town.... In Bethlehem, IOF stormed Beit Jala area of the city, imposing a strict curfew on it, local sources said.... They confirmed that the IOF troops broke into the area amid intensive fire shooting and imposed a tough curfew. They also climbed atop the civilians' houses and turned them into military barracks, detaining all family members into one single room, causing a state of fear and panic among children and women.
