Settlers injure two Palestinians in an attack near Salfit

SALFIT, Sunday, July 5, 2020 (WAFA) – At least two Palestinian civilians sustained injuries from gunshots today after a group of rampaging Jewish settlers opened gunfire at them in the village of Bidya, near the town of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, said the Ministry of Health.

Illegal Jewish settlers opened fire at civilians who were gathering at a land threatened with confiscation by Israeli occupation authorities near the village, injuring two of them.

The first of the two wounded sustained an injury in the pelvis, and his case was described as moderate. The other one sustained a light injury in the neck and a fracture in his shoulder. The two were moved to nearby Salfit Governmental Hospital for medical treatment.

Attacks by illegal Jewish settlers against Palestinians and their belongings are commonplace in the occupied West Bank, and are frequently unpunished by the occupation authorities.

Over half a million Israeli settlers live in Jewish-only settlements built illegally on Palestinian land across the West Bank, in violation of international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
