15-year-old by left with bruises, cuts in settler attack south of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, Friday, June 19, 2020 (WAFA) – A 15-year-old Palestinian boy was today left with bruises and cuts after being attacked by Israeli settlers close in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem city, said a local activist.

Ahmad Salah confirmed that Wadi‘ Fadi Salah, 15, was chased and pushed from a high place by a group of Israeli settlers while he was near his house in the Abu Sud neighborhood of the town, close to the Israeli settler-only by-pass Road 60. He sustained bruises and cuts across his body.

He was rushed to a hospital in Bethlehem for urgent treatment.

Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Settlers‘ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are almost 834,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
