RAMALLAH, Sunday, June 14, 2020 (WAFA) – News about the injuries among Palestinians during protests against the Israeli annexation plan made headlines in the front pages of the three Arabic Palestinian dailies on Sunday.
Al-Ayyam and al-Quds said that four Palestinians were injured and dozens suffered from suffocation yesterday after Israeli forces suppressed a protest against the Israeli annexation plan in the town of Kafr Qaddum in the occupied West Bank district of Qalqilya.
Al-Quds said that Israeli authorities announced takeover of 110 dunums of land in the village of Nabi Samwil, northwest of Jerusalem, and turning them into an archeological site, as well as a plan to build 251 settlement housing units in the West Bank.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida marked 13 years since Hamas’ coup against the Palestinian Authority and its armed and violent takeover of the Gaza Strip that led to the division of the country.
On a different subject, it said President Mahmoud Abbas met with Attorney General Akram al-Khatib in the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah, where he praised the efforts made by the public prosecution.
Al-Ayyam said illegal Israeli settlers today attacked the village of al-Tuwanah, in the area of Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank district of Hebron.
Al-Quds said the number of coronavirus cases in Palestine has reached 673 as recording six new cases were reported yesterday, according to the Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
She said that two cases were recorded in the town of al-Samou in the south of the West Bank of a 3 and 5-year-old children of a woman who tested positive for the disease. The other four cases were in occupied East Jerusalem.
