RAMALLAH, March 22, 2016 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Tuesday strongly condemned the bombings which targeted Zaventem airport and Maelbeek metro station in the city of Brussels killing 13 at the least.
He offered his deepest condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured ones.
Abbas affirmed that the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian people abhor terrorism and reject attacking civilians.
According to the BBC, “Two blasts tore through the departures area of Zaventem airport shortly after 08:00 local time (07:00 GMT).”
“An hour later, an explosion hit Maelbeek metro station, close to the EU institutions. The airport and whole transport system have been closed.”
