Child injured during Friday protests in Gaza dies of his wounds

 

RAFAH, September 8, 2018 (WAFA) – A 16-year-old child who was shot and critically injured on Friday during protests at the Gaza border with Israel, died on Saturday of his wounds, the European Hospital in Rafah, southern Gaza, said on Saturday.

Ahmad Misbah Abu Toyour, was admitted to hospital with critical wounds after he was shot by an Israeli army sniper east of Rafah. He underwent surgery at the hospital but later died of his wounds, said the hospital.

He is the second Palestinian child killed in the Friday protests after 17-year-old Bilal Khafaja was also shot in the chest by an Israeli army sniper east of Rafah.

With the latest deaths, the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli army since the start of the Return March protests at the end of March has risen to174 and more than 19,000 injured.
