JERUSALEM, February 2, 2018 (WAFA) – Over 20 Palestinian protesters were injured after Israeli police attacked a rally that set off in the neighborhood of al-Issawiya in occupied Jerusalem following Friday prayers, in condemnation of US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, local sources said.
The police used rubber-coated rounds and teargas canisters to disperse the protesters, injuring seven of them with rubber-coated rounds. Other protesters, meanwhile, were hit and injured by shrapnel of the teargas canisters.
Similar clashes also erupted at multiple points of friction with Israeli forces across the occupied West Bank following Friday prayers, in condemnation of Trump’s decision on Jerusalem in early December last year.
