RAMALLAH, Saturday, November 09, 2019 (WAFA) – The leadership of ruling Fatah party concluded today a high-profile meeting in the city of Ramallah, the West Bank, which discussed the preparations for the upcoming general elections, whose date is not declared yet.
Chaired by Mahmoud al-Aloul, Deputy Chairman of Fatah, the meeting recommended a prompt presidential decree on holding the elections, while providing the necessary mechanisms to ensure a democratic and free electoral process.
The Fatah meeting also discussed the preparations for commemorating the 15th anniversary of the death of late leader Yasser Arafat, which coincides on the 11th of this month.
The communique of the meeting said the attendees reached a consensus on nominating incumbent President Mahmoud Abbas for president in the upcoming presidential election.
