NABLUS, Thursday, January 03, 2019 (WAFA) – A Palestinian journalist and a medic were injured early Thursday during confrontations between residents and Israeli soldiers who were trying to secure a site in the northern West Bank city of Nablus for Jewish settlers, according to medical sources.

They said Palestine TV correspondent Bakr Abdul Haq, 29, was shot by a rubber-coated metal bullet in the leg and Yasin Omran, a medic, was also hit in the face during the confrontations and were taken to hospital in Nablus for treatment.

Soldiers have also prevented Palestine TV from covering the confrontations that broke out when the soldiers attempted to secure the area to allow the fanatic settlers to carry out a provocative visit to the site known as Joseph’s Tomb, located inside the Palestinian-controlled city.

Dozens of people also suffered suffocation from tear gas fired by the soldiers, said the medical sources.
