CARAKAS, May 18, 2014 (WAFA) –
President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday concluded a three-day official visit to
Venezuela, where he met with the Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro, and other
senior state officials.
Abbas, during the visit, signed energy
and double taxation avoidance agreements with his Venezuelan counterpart
Nicolas Maduro at Miraflores presidential palace in Caracas.
Abbas also received the Francisco de
Miranda Order from Maduro and conferred upon his counterpart the Palestine
Star.
A session of talks was held between
Abbas and Maduro in the presidential palace in Carakas, where they discussed
the latest developments in the Palestinian arena in light of the continued Israeli
unilateral actions and the ongoing settlement activities, in addition to Israel’s
escalated measures aiming to Judiaze Jerusalem.
They also discussed efforts exerted
to achieve the national reconciliation as well as discussed ways to promote the
bilateral relations between the two countries.
Abbas was accompanied by member of
the Executive Committee of the PLO Sa’eb Oraiqat, minister of foreign affairs
Reyad Al – Malki, and Abbas' Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majd Al- Khalidi.
