JENIN, October 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained two young Palestinian men on Friday evening while they were picking olives in the town of Barta’a, southwest of Jenin, according to local sources.
Sources said that Israeli forces raided olive groves and detained Murad and Qais Darar, both from Barta’a, while they were picking olives on their land.
The incident comes amid ongoing detentions and restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation forces on Palestinians during the olive harvest season in and around Barta’a. These measures have hindered farmers’ access to their lands, preventing them from harvesting their crops and deepening their suffering amid a recurrence of such practices.
