Israeli colonists brutally assault Palestinian residents picking olives near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, October 15, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists brutally assaulted and attacked on Thursday Palestinian residents in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah.

Local sources told WAFA that dozens of colonists attacked olive harvesters in the al-Hadab area of the village, assaulting them and detaining one of them after beating him.

The sources added that Israeli forces, which have completely closed the village’s entrance, prevented an ambulance from entering Burqa for several hours.

The attacks come as the olive harvest season begins, during which Palestinian farmers in several areas face settler violence, including the theft of olives, cutting down and burning trees, and the seizure of crops. These attacks aim to prevent farmers from accessing their land and harvesting their crops.

Last month, colonists carried out 647 attacks, according to reported figures. The attacks were concentrated in Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, with 506 incidents, followed by Nablus with 342, Hebron with 272, Jenin with 202, Bethlehem with 187, Tulkarm with 152, and Jerusalem with 149.
