Kuwait condemns Colombia’s opening of embassy in occupied Jerusalem

KUWAIT, October 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Kuwait condemned on Wednesday Colombia’s decision to officially open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem, according to the Times Kuwait.

In a statement, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Kuwait’s categorical rejection of the step and all practices aimed at altering the existing legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem.

Kuwait called on the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities in confronting any attempts to impose a new reality in the occupied Palestinian Territory.

The Ministry reiterated Kuwait’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
