Five Palestinian women suffocate as Israeli forces fire teargas south of Nablus

NABLUS, October 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Five Palestinian women, including an elderly woman, suffered from tear gas inhalation on Sunday after Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters at them while they were harvesting olives in the village of Yatma, south of Nablus.

Medical sources reported that Qabalan town’s ambulance service treated five women for suffocation after Israeli forces raided the agricultural land where they were harvesting olives in the northern part of the village and fired tear gas canisters toward them.

Israeli forces subsequently forced the women to leave their land, claiming that the area was classified as Area C, under full Israeli control.

Meanwhile, the villages of al-Mughayyir and Ein Yabrud, east of Ramallah, witnessed attacks by Israeli colonists under the protection of occupation forces. The attacks included the theft of olive crops and agricultural equipment.

According to data from the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission, colonist attacks across the occupied West Bank escalated on Saturday, with 18 incidents documented in nine governorates: Ramallah and al-Bireh, Nablus, Salfit, Qalqilya, Hebron, Jericho, Jerusalem and Tulkarm.

The documented attacks included assaults on olive harvesters, forcing farmers to abandon their land, physical violence, the use of pepper spray, the detention of residents, and the theft of agricultural produce, vehicles and harvesting equipment. Other incidents involved attacks on homes, the demolition of a wall and damage to trees.
