RAMALLAH, October 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh said on Saturday that statements by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar claiming concern for democracy in Palestine and the postponement of legislative elections were misleading attempts to deceive public opinion.
Al-Sheikh stressed that the Israeli occupation bears responsibility for obstructing the Palestinian democratic process through its crimes, measures, and continued violence against the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued on Saturday evening, he said those responsible for massacres and daily aggression against Palestinians had no right to speak in the language of concern or offer advice.
He added that Israeli policies, escalating violence, and ongoing attacks were obstructing Palestinian national and democratic rights.
