US senator accuses embassy in Israel of withholding information on killing of American citizens in West Bank

WASHINGTON, October 10, 2026 (WAFA) — US Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen has accused the US Embassy in Israel of withholding information regarding American citizens killed in the occupied West Bank.

In a post on the US social media platform X, Van Hollen said the embassy was concealing information related to the killing of American citizens.

He further accused US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and his designated representative handling the matter of covering up the information to protect Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government.

Van Hollen called on the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee to investigate what he called an attempted cover-up.

“If we don't stand up for American citizens killed, it just shows we can’t stand up for anybody who is the victim of unjust killings, whether in the West Bank or anywhere else in the world,” he said.

On September 30, the US Senate rejected a resolution calling on the Trump administration to prepare a report for Congress on escalating Israeli human rights violations in the occupied West Bank.

The rejected proposal would have required the US Department of State to submit a report documenting human rights violations in the occupied West Bank, including Israel's detention of Palestinian children and the deaths of American citizens.
