Foreign Ministry condemns escalating Israeli colonist attacks on Palestinian farmers

RAMALLAH, October 7, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Wednesday condemned the escalating crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces and colonists against Palestinian farmers across the occupied West Bank.

The Ministry noted that the latest of such attacks was an attack on olive harvesters while picking olives on their land between Burqa and the Ramin Plain, east of Tulkarm, which resulted in the killing of 44-year-old Ali Hassan Yasser al-Bazari and the injury of more than 20 others, including several who sustained serious gunshot wounds.

It said that the systematic targeting of unarmed Palestinian civilians and farmers during the olive harvest season, attacking them with live ammunition and beatings, and preventing them from accessing their lands and harvesting their crops, in addition to assaulting Palestinian ambulance crews as they attempted to reach and evacuate the injured, detaining three paramedics and a volunteer, seizing the keys to ambulances, and forcing their crews to leave the area, constitute full-fledged war crimes and a dangerous escalation of the occupation’s aggression in the occupied West Bank.

The Ministry warned of the dangers posed by the continuation of these crimes and the escalation of attacks by the occupation forces and colonists against the Palestinian people, their property, and their agricultural lands, particularly during the olive harvest season.

It called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and compel Israel, the occupying power, to halt its crimes and hold those responsible accountable at all levels, as well as those who provide them with protection or abet the commission of crimes against the Palestinian people.

It called for practical and deterrent measures to be taken to dismantle the system of settler colonialism and settler terrorism, guarantee Palestinian farmers’ right to access and protect their lands, and ultimately bring an end to the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
