TULKARM, September 16, 2026 (WAFA) — A Palestinian was killed and 14 others were injured on Wednesday during an attack carried out by Israeli colonists, protected by Israeli forces, on olive harvesters from the town of Burqa, northwest of Nablus, on their lands extending between Burqa and Sahl Ramin, east of Tulkarm.
The Ministry of Health said Ali Hassan Yasser al-Bazzari, 44, was killed in an attack by Israeli forces and colonists on Burqa, north of Nablus.
Local sources reported that several of the injured were transferred to Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarm, while others were taken to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where one of the injured was pronounced dead. A woman was also among the injured.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society told WAFA that its crews treated five people injured in the colonists’ attack on residents of Burqa in Sahl Ramin, including two people who sustained live-fire wounds and were in very critical condition, and three who were injured after being beaten.
The Red Crescent added that Israeli forces assaulted ambulance crews and volunteers working in the field in Burqa.
It said Israeli forces also assaulted ambulance crews near Sahl Burqa as they attempted to reach and evacuate the injured from Sahl Ramin. The forces detained three paramedics and a volunteer from Burqa and seized the keys to their ambulances before releasing them and forcing them to leave the area.
Eyewitnesses told WAFA that a large group of colonists, accompanied by Israeli forces, attacked farmers from Burqa while they were harvesting olives on their land in Sahl Ramin, opened fire at them, and assaulted them, causing the injuries.
The witnesses added that the settlers prevented ambulance crews from reaching several of the injured and threatened to open fire on anyone approaching the area, hindering the evacuation of the wounded and their transfer to hospitals.
