RAMALLAH, September 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesperson for the Palestinian Presidency, warned of the dangers of the systematic Israeli escalation against occupied Jerusalem and its holy sites.

He emphasized that the continued incursions by extremist settlers and ministers of the occupation government into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for the third consecutive day represent a failed attempt to impose a new reality that will not grant the occupation any legitimacy.

He added that these provocative and condemned incursions constitute a blatant violation of the existing historical and legal status quo, and that the occupation government is attempting to impose a fait accompli policy targeting the identity of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Abu Rudeineh stressed that these practices will not change the established fact that East Jerusalem is occupied Palestinian territory, and that the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, with its entire area of ​​144 dunams, is the exclusive right of Muslims and is not subject to division or partnership under any circumstances.

Abu Rudeineh held the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for the dangerous consequences of these policies, which will push the entire region toward further tension and explosion.

He concluded by emphasizing that Israeli measures will not create any right or legitimacy in occupied Jerusalem, where history lies buried beneath a land burdened with sorrow, pain, and sanctity, and will not succeed in altering the Palestinians' inalienable right to Jerusalem as the capital of their independent state.
