RAMALLAH, September 21, 2026 (WAFA) — The Central Elections Commission (CEC) said today that approximately three million Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip are eligible to vote in the legislative elections scheduled for November 28.
According to demographic data released by the CEC, the total number of eligible voters stands at approximately 2.97 million, including 1.24 million in the Gaza Strip, 1.59 million in the West Bank, and 140,000 Palestinian holders of Jerusalem IDs in Jerusalem.
The commission said the figures include citizens who meet the legal requirements for voting, namely those who will be at least 18 years old on election day.
The data showed that 1.57 million eligible voters are under the age of 38, accounting for 53% of the total electorate. The CEC noted that this age group is particularly significant given that nearly two decades have passed since the last Palestinian legislative elections.
Women account for 49.9% of eligible voters, compared with 50.1% men, according to the CEC.
By age group, voters aged 18–24 account for 17.5% of the electorate, those aged 25–35 for 30.6%, those aged 36–45 for 20.8%, those aged 46–55 for 14.3%, and those aged over 55 for 16.8%.
The CEC also said that approximately 51,000 eligible voters with disabilities are registered in the West Bank, representing 3.2% of the electorate there. Comparable data is not available for the Gaza Strip. The commission said it would make the necessary arrangements to facilitate their participation and adapt polling centers and stations to their needs.
