Weather: Temperatures forecast to gradually rise through end of week

 

RAMALLAH, August 18, 2026 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Meteorological Department forecast that the weather today, Tuesday, will be typical for summer and partly cloudy, with a slight rise in temperatures to around their annual average.

Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed and occasionally active. Sea waves will be light to moderate.

During the evening and nighttime hours, weather will be pleasant in mountainous areas and warm elsewhere. Winds will be northwesterly, light to moderate and occasionally active, while sea waves will remain light to moderate.

On Wednesday, the weather will be hot in mountainous areas and very hot elsewhere, with temperatures rising to around 2°C above their annual average.

On Thursday, very hot conditions will prevail across most areas, with temperatures rising further to around 5°C above their annual average.

Very hot weather will continue on Friday across most areas, with little change in temperatures, which will remain around 5°C above their annual average.

The Meteorological Department warned citizens, particularly those living in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It also warned against starting fires in areas with dry vegetation and leaving children or elderly people inside closed vehicles.
