MECCA, August 17, 2026 (WAFA) — The Muslim World League today condemned Israel’s announced rejection of the roadmap for completing the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the war in Gaza, which was endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, as well as Israel’s rejection of the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa denounced the rejection in a statement issued by the league’s General Secretariat, describing it as an extension of Israeli policies that persistently violate international law and UN resolutions and undermine all peace efforts.
Al-Issa stressed the urgent need to compel Israel to fully comply with the commitments set out in President Trump’s comprehensive plan and its accompanying roadmap, move forward with implementation of the plan’s second phase, and prevent any party from obstructing its implementation.
The statement welcomed the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Türkiye, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates on the matter, praising their firm solidarity with the Palestinian people and steadfast support for their legitimate rights, foremost among them the right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state through the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions, which it described as the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
