HEBRON, August 8, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists on Saturday attacked Palestinians in a mosque in the town of Idhna, west of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, assaulting them and beating them.
WAFA correspondent reported that the colonists, protected by Israeli forces, attacked residents near the Nabi Saleh Mosque east of Idhna and fired live ammunition into the air. Meantime, Israeli soldiers detained seven Palestinians after forcing them out of the mosque and firing live ammunition, stun grenades and tear gas.
The detainees were identified as Jamal Saqr Tmeizi, the imam of the mosque Mutaz Saadi Tmeizi, elderly man Hussein Adli Soura, Musab Adli Soura, Mahmoud Malek Abu Juhaisha, Adel Hussein Soura, and Salam Mohammad Tmeizi.
The colonists also set up a tent on Palestinian-owned land in al-Jalatiya neighborhood of the town, brought a flock of sheep to the area, and smashed a Palestinian resident's vehicle.
