Israeli forces raid Ya’bad in Jenin, detain residents and conduct field interrogations

JENIN, August 9, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces stormed the town of Ya'bad, southwest of Jenin, on Saturday, through its western gate after sealing off the entrances with earth mounds. They then proceeded to raid dozens of homes, conduct field interrogations of residents, and detain several for hours.

Ya'bad Mayor Samer Abu Bakr told WAFA that approximately 15 military vehicles participated in the raid, deploying throughout several neighborhoods of the town. Soldiers raided dozens of homes, interrogated scores of residents, and detained them for hours. Simultaneously, several young men were assaulted, and the contents of a number of homes were vandalized.

He added that Israeli forces turned the home of Ibrahim Amour into a field interrogation center, detaining several residents for hours, while continuing their raids and searches throughout the town.

The raid on Ya'bad comes a day after the occupation forces seized the home of citizen Khaled Jamal Abu Shamla in the "Al-Maloul" area of the town and turned it into a military outpost, after giving him a short time to evacuate some of his belongings.
