RAMALLAH, August 9, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces have continued for several days to level additional land in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, for the benefit of expanding a recently established settlement outpost.

Local sources told WAFA that several Israeli bulldozers have been carrying out leveling work in the Gharaba area, northwest of the town, to expand the settlement outpost, which was established several months ago on approximately 10 dunams of Palestinian-owned land. A mobile home has already been set up.

The sources noted that the outpost has become a base for attacks by Israeli colonists, who prevent Palestinians from accessing their land. The attacks include repeated assaults, attempts to steal livestock and horses, grazing of livestock, and destruction of crops, all under the protection of the Israeli army.

Israeli forces previously constructed a colonial road connecting the Ma'ale Levona settlement to the Gharaba area.

According to a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the first half of 2026 witnessed an escalation in violations by colonist terrorists, including the establishment of new settlement outposts, attacks on land and property, and the targeting of trees, all part of a policy of imposing facts on the ground. Settlers established 42 settlement outposts on Palestinian-owned land, most of them pastoral outposts, including four established in Area B.

These outposts were distributed across the governorates of Hebron (13 outposts), Ramallah (9 outposts), Nablus (8 outposts), Bethlehem (4 outposts), and others.
