OIC condemns escalating Israeli crimes in Gaza and across the occupied Palestinian territory

JEDDAH, August 4, 2026 (WAFA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the ongoing Israeli crimes and violations across the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly the targeting of healthcare facilities, residential buildings and tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which it said has resulted in the killing and injury of dozens of civilians in a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the General Secretariat also warned of the continued escalation of Israeli colonial settlement activity and the organized violence carried out by extremist Israeli colonists under the protection of Israeli occupation forces throughout the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem. It stressed the need for decisive measures to halt these violations and crimes and to hold those responsible accountable.

The OIC reiterated the need to compel Israel, the occupying Power, to fulfill its obligations under the ceasefire agreement and to begin implementing the second phase of the peace plan in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803. It said this should include reopening all border crossings, ensuring the sufficient and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, the full withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, preserving the unity of the Palestinian territory, and enabling the Government of the State of Palestine to assume its responsibilities throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including the Gaza Strip.
