Weather: Slight drop in temperatures expected through end of week

RAMALLAH, August 4, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said temperatures are expected to decline slightly on Tuesday, while remaining around 2°C above the seasonal average.

Weather is expected to be hot in the mountainous areas and very hot across the rest of the country. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, becoming active at times, while the sea will be slight to moderate.

During the evening and nighttime hours, conditions will be pleasant in the mountainous areas and warm elsewhere. Northwesterly winds will remain moderate, with occasional active spells, and the sea will remain moderate.

According to the forecast, similar weather conditions will prevail on Wednesday, with hot weather in the mountains and very hot conditions elsewhere. Temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged, staying about 2°C above the annual average.

A further drop in temperatures is expected on Thursday, although they will remain slightly above the seasonal norm. Another decrease is forecast for Friday, bringing temperatures back to around their annual average, while hot to very hot conditions are expected to persist.

The Meteorological Department urged the public to avoid prolonged direct exposure to sunlight, particularly between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., refrain from lighting fires in areas with dry vegetation, and avoid leaving children or elderly people inside closed vehicles. It also advised residents to drink plenty of water and fluids.
