RAMALLAH, August 2, 2026 (WAFA) — Minister of Finance and Planning Estephan Salameh and Italian Consul General Domenico Bellato signed on Sunday a €10 million grant to support the Palestinian public budget, as part of ongoing bilateral partnership and cooperation.

The ministry said the grant will be disbursed through the European Union’s PEGASE mechanism to support the Palestinian Authority and its reform process.

It added that the funding will directly contribute to supporting medical personnel and easing operational burdens on the healthcare system, helping ensure the delivery of comprehensive healthcare services and a more effective response to medical challenges.

The ministry noted that the support reflects the Italian government’s commitment to assisting Palestinian government efforts to strengthen the resilience of the healthcare sector and ensure the continued provision of effective and comprehensive health services to citizens.
